About last year's event – Chicago VeganMania
2010

Chicago VeganMania 2010 was once again held in the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Abour 1,700 people attended on an unseasonably hot and muggy October day. The food court included delicacies from Soul Vegetarian, Upton's Naturals, Arya Bhavan, Delicious Café, 168 Chinese Restaurant, Life On Mars, Gyood (vegan) ice cream, Ste. Martaen (vegan) cheese, Raw Creations, and Apple Rush sparkling fruit juices. We also hosted more than 80 vendors and exhibitors, several visiting artists in the art lounge, a rollicking children's area, our Vegan Rockstar photo booth and many other attractions.

Our speakers included Nathan Runkle from Mercy for Animals, vegan chefs and cookbook authors Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Fran Costigan, vegan MDs Dr. Milton Mills and Dr. Michael Greger and historian/anthropologist Zarakyah Ahmadiel.

We had vegan chef demos from
the aforementioned Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Fran Costigan, as well as Kim Gracen from the Chicago Diner, Yoanah from Soul Vegetarian, cookbook author Kelly Peloza, and raw foods chef Linda Szarkowski.

We had live music from The Giving Tree Band, the Exponential, bellydancers Deserae Hunyar and Read My Hips, The Rust Belt Ramblers, hip hop poet Phenom, and Nikki Lynette.
