Music
and Entertainment
Chicago
VeganMania has always had an interesting and eclectic mix of activity
on the Auditorium stage. This year, we're pulling out all
the stops.

11:00 Zach
Zach's music is very upbeat, entertaining, and uplifting. Vegan for 5
years, he performs more than 200 times a year around the country in
promotion of vegan ideals, compassion, and more. He started the Akron
Peace project in Ohio, and his group promotes and organizes numerous
vegan events a year. He is also a certified World Peace Diet
facilitator. Check out his music and see videos at zachmusic.net
12:00 Nahotnah Nahotnah
is a motion dance troupe specializing in teaching and performing hoop
dance. During our performance we teach individuals big and small how to
hoop. nahotnah.com
12:45 Kidz in the Mix This children's breakdancing group is mentored by teacher and choreographer Tanja Pazou
1:00 The Ones (bio to come)
2:00 Elyahreev Immortal Elyahreev
Immortal is a artist that is dedicated to creating sound that uplifts
and regenerates the people. Since the late 90's, as one half of the
group T.O.Z, he has performed throughout the world, dispensing lyrical
acumen weighted with progressive power. He has performed with such
artists across the local and national spectrum, and continues to
work on his craft and connect with others of like minds. He is also a
proud vegan.
2:45 The Exponential The
Exponential is a sonic collaboration of synth artist and percussionist
Brian Murray and Ben Perkins, who plays the traditional Indian
surbrahar (bass sitar) and rudra veena (a tube zither). Their music
builds on primitive ambient rhythms to create an environment filled
with the sounds and sensations of a hyper-stressed population.
3:45 DJ Dominion Dominion
drops the Beats and Basslines in a unique way. His
specially designed DJ battle station includes mixing of 2
CD players, theremin, laptop and live Waldorf synthesizer blended
on a 12 channel sound board instead of the traditional DJ mixer. He has
spent 20 years in the music industry watching, learning and
practicing. Experience a multidimensional collage of live synth, sound
loops and groovy beats.
The
Giving Tree Band was forced to cancel their appearance at this year's
Chicago VeganMania because of a contractual agreement. We apologize for
any disappointment, but we have a pretty awesome show anyway.
